Flexibility and connectivity have been the guiding principles behind the design of Catalyst Inc, whose buildings are spread across four campuses – multiple buildings in Belfast's Titanic Quarter; the Innovation Centre in Derry~Londonderry; the ECOS centre in Ballymena and the CoLab facility at the Letterkenny Institute of Technology, over the border in Co. Donegal.


Our focus on flexibility not only includes the design of our buildings and the types of activities they can accommodate but also the duration of lease terms. At present we provide lease arrangements that go from one extreme – the use of a desk with one month's commitment, – through to a 15-year lease of an entire building. We also offer virtual tenancies for those not needing a permanent desk. See below for more details.

Accommodation solutions can be tailored to individual companies' needs and a range of building management support services can be provided to suit startups as well as multi-national blue chip companies.

Availability of central meeting and conference facilities, café and corporate catering services, car parking, managed reception and security services make Catalyst Inc one of the premier locations in Northern Ireland to not only locate but also to grow your business in.


Our serviced workspaces boast Tier One internet and telephony gateways, on a resilient, carrier-independent fibre-optic ring infrastructure. The individual buildings are provided with Category 6 cabling, mainly distributed through a raised floor installation.

Scaleable ICT packages are available if required through a Mitel-installed and -supported VoIP system, enabling companies to occupy and commence activity quickly and without capital investment in ICT switches.

Low-cost internet and telephony services are available through bulk-purchasing across the park, yielding benefits for all tenants.

The site is equipped with wireless capabilities that can be enabled with high security for individual tenants. The standard wireless is open-access and free for all tenants.


Catalyst Inc is accepted as a "third-tier" science park, acknowledged by the International Science Park Association as "one of the two most complete science parks in Europe". From the outset, Catalyst Inc, then called the Northern Ireland Science Park, was developed to provide not just physical facilities but a home to a thriving innovation ecosystem. It has become a peer-driven network that supports the growth of knowledge-based business in many ways, particularly through the provision of two major projects:

Serviced Workspace

Our serviced workspace solution begins at a pair of desks in a 200 sq ft space. Our packages provide ideal accommodation solutions to new/small companies in a superb interacting and work environment, or entire floors or buildings for larger businesses. Catering facilities include café and dining, bookable meeting facilities, free car parking, shuttle bus to the city centre, superb internet and telephony solutions.

Dedicated Desk

Service includes:

  • Desk in open plan area.
  • Access to communal areas including canteen and breakout lounge.
  • Reception services including photocopying and faxing.
  • Access to meeting and conference rooms on the same terms as other tenants.
  • Use/retention of Catalyst Inc address including mail handling and forwarding (retention on franking machine).
  • Use/retention of Catalyst Inc telephone including option for answer machine, call divert (recharge for outgoing calls), or answering service and message forwarding via e-mail (25p per call/e-mail).
  • Access to wireless broadband.
  • Access to Catalyst Inc intranet.
  • Inclusion on Catalyst Inc promotions – web page, reception TV screen, etc.
  • Inclusion on mailing list for events, etc.

Price: £500 per quarter, paid in advance (1 month notice).
